Today, on Dear Sybersue, I answer Maria’s question: My Boyfriend is Fed Up After I Broke up With Him Too Many Times!
Dear Sybersue,
My Boyfriend and I have been together for almost 3 years. During that time, I have broken up with him 5 times. He is now fed up and says he’s done with this back-and-forth BS for the last time.
Part of me is ready for a change, and I am thinking about moving away & maybe going to college. I still love him, or at least think I do. Sometimes I wonder if it is more out of habit than having actual feelings for him. Realistically, I know this is not healthy, and I am driving him crazy. I am making him insecure and jealous all the time. We are constantly fighting due to his insecurities.
I recently asked him to go on a break to see if we should end this once and for all. He answered that he is not interested in taking a break or pursuing our relationship any longer.
I am not sure if I really want it to be over. Sadly, I do understand how tumultuous things have been between us for far too long! Why am I behaving like this, and what should I do now?
